Welcome to Create and Chill!

A community celebrating creativity, playfulness, and connection!

It can be tough to make time to create art, so we wanted to create a space where like-minded people can come together to create, share and connect with themselves and others!

No prior artistic experience is necessary – this is a judgment-free zone where you can freely explore various artistic mediums and techniques. Whether painting, drawing, or crafting, our goal is to encourage self-expression and self-discovery.

What to expect?

  • Each session is 90 minutes long.

  • We meet virtually via ZOOM.

  • A new art prompt each session designed by an art therapist

  • A scheduled time to create alongside a community

  • No fancy art materials are required! You can work with any art material you have on hand.

  • You can follow the prompt or enjoy the community and create your own art, journalling etc.

$8 to attend

All proceeds go towards creating affordable group art therapy for those less privileged to access mental health.

You take care of others by taking care of yourself first!

Your Facilitators

  • Sara is a creative and therapeutic arts facilitator with a varied background of experience. Beginning her work in theatre and performance, she worked with a range of age groups, from youth to older adults, developing stories and creations that wove together memory, imagination and self-exploration. While initially focusing on dramatic art, Sara has always used creativity as a source of joy and connection. During the pandemic, Sara rekindled her passion for visual arts and was inspired by its way to encourage creativity in herself and others. This brought her to study a post-graduate diploma in Art Therapy with Ciiat, the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy.

While rooted in therapeutic practices, Sara’s approach is flexible and client-centred. Her aim is to encourage the expression of everyone’s potential for inner creativity. With a focus on process-based, exploratory creation, she strives to create spaces where individuals can feel safe and secure while engaging with their artistic voice.
